shot and killed a 15-year-old honor student who performed during president obama's inauguration parade. she was gunned down in a park just blocks from her school in chicago. the teenager was part of the chicago drill team which marched in the inaugural parade. the girl's godfather said she had dreams of becoming a doctor or a lawyer. police say there's no indication she was the intended target of this shooting. they say someone just opened fire on a group of students who just had gotten out of school. >> tears in this family and the pain etched in their face is unacceptable to everybody in chicago. this is sandy hook. >> shooting happened a few blocks from the teenager's school kaine college prep. >>> hundreds of residents in newtown, connecticut, took part in a public hearing last night. it's part of a push to call for increased gun control legislation in the state. >> a bipartisan group from the state's legislature is considering policy changes after the shooting at an elementary school which left 26 people, including 20 first graders dead. randall pinkston has more from newtown. >>
